A new warning signal is installed at intersections with permanent right-hand traffic

On the initiative of the Yerevan Municipality, an additional light information signal is installed at intersections with permanent right-hand traffic, which will remind drivers about the activation of the green signal allowing pedestrian crossing at the same time.

The first signal was installed and operated at the intersection of Agatanghegos-Grigor Lusavorich streets and the corner of Arshakunyats avenue with Agatanghegos street.
"Drivers' field of vision is sometimes limited, and they don't notice the moment when the signal is turned on, allowing the pedestrian to cross in parallel. When the green pedestrian signal lights up, the new signal warning the driver about it will also turn on. This is the first one. The number of such intersections in Yerevan is 27; the new traffic signs will be installed in all the others," says Hayk Sargsyan, head of the transportation department of the Yerevan Municipality.

The works were carried out jointly with the RA Traffic Police. The initiative's primary goal is to reduce the number of accidents and ensure safe traffic.
