Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi's scheduled speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos has been canceled.
His name was on the list of speakers until the previous day, but today Araghchi's name has disappeared from the WEF website. The forum's organizers confirmed to Swiss media that Araghchi will not travel to Davos, explaining the decision by the deaths of people during protests in Iran and considering it inappropriate for the Iranian authorities to participate this year.
Araghchi stated that his speech was canceled due to political pressure from Israel and its allies in the United States, accusing the WEF of "double standards."
"The WEF canceled my speech in Davos based on lies, political pressure from Israel and its proxies and defenders in the United States."
There is one fundamental truth to the recent violence in Iran: we were supposed to protect our people from armed terrorists and ISIS-style murders with the open support of the Mossad.
Sadly, the genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinians and the mass murder of 71,000 innocent people in no way forced the WEF to cancel the invitation of any Israeli official," Araghchi wrote.
"If the WEF wants to demonstrate an allegedly 'moral' position, that is its right. But at least be consistent in doing so. The current blatant double standards only testify to moral decline and intellectual bankruptcy," he noted.
