Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made statements after a cabinet meeting in Ankara. In his speech, the head of state noted that dividing people by region, political views, or origin has never been part of Turkish policy.
Commenting on the issues discussed at the meeting, he noted that participants proposed additional measures to ensure Turkey successfully overcomes this troubled period.
"With a foreign policy focused on peace, we will continue to oppose any attempt that could cause instability in our region," he noted.
Regarding the situation in Syria, Erdogan stressed that Syria belongs to everyone - Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, Nusayris, Sunnis, and Druze. It belongs to the entire brotherly Syrian people.
He noted the clear actions of the Syrian army in neutralizing terrorist groups. "The Syrian army, operating under a unified command, has successfully passed the test and has carefully avoided actions that could put it at a disadvantage."
Recalling his telephone conversation with the Syrian president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan said: "I told President al-Sharaa that Turkey will always support Syria in its fight against terrorism. We will not leave the Syrian people alone."
He concluded his speech with the following words: "The era of terrorism in our region is over. It is necessary to fulfill the conditions of the ceasefire and full integration agreement and not make any more miscalculations."
