What are the known figures on the casualties in Iran?

Several organizations have provided data on the number of victims during the recent mass protests in Iran. Often, there are significant differences in the figures, sources, and methodologies published. However, one thing is clear: the minimal information does not allow everyone to present reliable data or make reliable observations.

Radar Armenia presents publications in the international press regarding the number of victims in Iran.

The US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) has confirmed 2,403 deaths over the past 17 days. Among the dead were 12 children (under 18 years old). In addition, nine people (neither military nor protesters) were also among the dead. 147 members of the security forces and government supporters were killed, including five civilian supporters of the government line.

The organization reported that 614 protests were registered nationwide. These demonstrations took place in 187 cities and covered all 31 provinces of the country. 18,434 people were confirmed to have been arrested.

The Norway-based Iran Human Rights (IHR) organization confirmed that at least 734 participants had been killed, including twelve children and six women, and thousands more were injured.

The organization reported that before the internet shutdown, the protests had spread to all 31 provinces and about 120 cities.

Sources from the American CBS News also reported that the number of those killed was at least 12,000 and could rise to 20,000.

In addition to this information, an anonymous Iranian official told Reuters about 2,000 victims.

It should be noted that the Iranian authorities do not publish official figures, and data collection is difficult due to the internet shutdown and the ban on journalists.
