Romania is ready to discuss unification with Moldova in a serious manner, said Evgen Tomac, an advisor to the Romanian president, in an interview with Calea Europeană.
He stressed that Bucharest and Chisinau share the common goal of supporting, by all means, the acceleration of Moldova’s European integration process.
In an interview with the German press on the eve of his visit to Berlin last year, Romanian President Nicolae Timofti said he personally wanted to unify with Moldova. Still, as long as the citizens of the neighboring country support the current form of government, Romania will take no action.
