Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen has said that if he were to choose, he would select Denmark over the United States.
“We are facing a geopolitical crisis right now, and if we had to choose between the United States and Denmark right now, we would choose Denmark,” he said at a joint news conference with Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen in Copenhagen.
Frederiksen recalled that Denmark is a NATO member and warned that the use of military force would undermine the transatlantic defense alliance.
“It has not been easy throughout history to resist completely unacceptable pressure from our allies. But many signs show that the hardest part is yet to come,” he said.
