US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke by phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday, a US official told Reuters, without providing further details.
According to the newspaper, three Israeli sources said that Netanyahu and Rubio discussed possible US intervention in Iran.
Israel has been on high alert amid the largest anti-government protests in Iran in years.
