Protesters pin hopes on Washington. Khamenei

Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has delivered a message to the Iranian people on state television.

In the message, he sharply criticized the protesters, accusing them of destructive activities and of aligning with foreign forces.

He claimed that a "group of vandals" had destroyed buildings belonging to their country in Tehran and several other cities last night, seeking to please the US president.

"These people are pinning their hopes on Washington and are acting to harm Iran. Suppose he (Trump) can, let him first deal with his own country's affairs. Various incidents are already taking place there," the Iranian leader said.

He also predicted that Trump's rule would fall.

According to him, arrogant and dictatorial rulers usually fall at the peak of their arrogance.

"As for the person who sits there, arrogantly and smugly, judging the entire world, he should know that, as a rule, dictators and arrogant powers, such as Pharaoh, Nimrud, Reza Khan, Mohammad Reza, etc., were overthrown precisely when they were at the peak of their arrogance. He, too, will be overthrown," Khamenei declared.
