Ukrainian authorities have reported that the Russian armed forces have launched a missile strike on a "critical infrastructure facility" in Lviv. A ballistic missile was used. The air target was moving at about 13,000 kilometers per hour on a ballistic trajectory.
Yuri Ignat, an official representative of the Ukrainian Air Force, told Ukrainskaya Pravda that the strike was likely carried out from the Kapustin Yar test site in the Astrakhan region. "The launches were probably from Kapustin Yar. According to preliminary data, explosions were heard in the Lviv region. The information is being verified," Ignat said.
The Russian Oreshnik ballistic missile complex is located at Kapustin Yar.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi wrote on social networks, "Whether it was an Oreshnik is not yet known. The military will provide information. There has been a strike on a critical infrastructure facility. All relevant services are working on the scene, and the fire is being extinguished."
It has not yet been officially confirmed that an Oreshnik missile carried out the strike.
