The Iranian president has called on security forces to avoid clashes with protesters.
Iranian Vice President Mohammad Ja'far Ghaempanah said that Pezeshkian had been told that security forces should exercise maximum restraint during the ongoing protests, except in cases of a serious threat to national security.
"People with guns and knives, as well as those who attack military and security facilities, are considered rioters. Security forces should ensure dialogue and peaceful communication and listen to the demands of the people," he quoted Pezeshkian as saying.
