The Syrian army announced the start of targeted strikes against Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) positions in the Ashrafiyeh, Sheikh Maqsoud, and Bani Zeid districts of Aleppo, starting at 1:30 p.m. A curfew has been declared in these areas.
The army called on the civilian population to stay away from all SDF positions.
It should be noted that one soldier and five civilians were killed and 31 were injured in clashes that began in the center of Aleppo on January 6.
The Syrian army has also sent additional forces (including dozens of tanks and armored personnel carriers) to the lines of contact with the Syrian Democratic Forces.
Official institutions in the city center have been closed due to the clashes, and schools and universities have suspended classes.
