Khamenei is preparing to flee to Moscow

The Times has learned that a plan is being developed for Khamenei to flee Tehran, accompanied by his inner circle, if he sees the army and security forces deserting, siding with the protesters, or failing to carry out orders.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has developed a plan for his escape from Tehran if his forces fail to quell the protests, the Times reported, citing an intelligence report. Protests have erupted across the country in recent weeks amid an economic crisis.

The newspaper reported that the 86-year-old Khamenei is planning to flee Tehran, accompanied by his inner circle of 20 aides and family members, if he sees the army and security forces deserting, siding with the protesters, or failing to carry out orders.

"Plan B" is intended for Khamenei and his inner circle, including his son and presumed heir, Mojtaba," an intelligence source told the publication.
