Russian and Iranian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Masoud Pezeshkian spoke by telephone. The Iranian President condemned the attack organized by Kiev on the residence of the Russian President in Novgorod.
The parties exchanged views on further strengthening Russian-Iranian cooperation in various areas, including energy and transport infrastructure. The situation surrounding Iran's nuclear program was also discussed.
Masoud Pezeshkian warmly congratulated Vladimir Putin on the upcoming New Year. In turn, the Russian leader conveyed his best wishes to the leadership and people of the Islamic Republic on the occasion of the recently celebrated Shab-e Chelleh national holiday in Iran.
