Azerbaijan has published information about Kazakhstan's preliminary statement marking the anniversary of the AZAL plane crash.
According to the information, in accordance with ICAO requirements, Kazakhstan published a preliminary report on February 4 this year that reflects only the facts and contains no analysis or conclusions. Azerbaijan claims that the report of the Kazakh side, as well as the general conclusion of experts from Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Brazil, and ICAO, shows that the plane lost control and crashed not as a result of any technical malfunction, but as a result of external interference, that is, a direct collision.
The statement notes that the investigation into the crash of the Embraer 190-100 IGW passenger plane is ongoing, in accordance with Annex 13 to the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation. The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan is investigating, with the participation of representatives from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Azerbaijan, Brazil, and Russia.
In addition to this investigation, the investigative bodies of the three countries (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Russia) are conducting criminal investigations into the incident within their respective jurisdictions.
