Zelensky wished Putin death in Christmas message

In his Christmas message, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke of the traditional belief that God can hear a sincere wish on the eve of the holiday.

“Today, we all have one dream. We wish he would die. Each person will tell himself, but when we turn to God, of course, we ask for something broader. We ask for peace for Ukraine. We fight and pray for it,” Zelensky said, without specifying who he meant.

Ukrainian media suggested that he was referring to Vladimir Putin, who has been waging a war against Ukraine for almost four years.

The Christmas message comes amid Zelensky’s new statements about a possible end to the war. This week, he detailed the 20-point program for the first time.
