Trump's German relatives are forced to close their family bakery due to a lack of business and the crisis.

The US presidential election was a turning point for a small bakery in the southwestern German town of Freinsheim. The reason was the owners' family ties to Donald Trump and the "Trump slice" cake with a portrait of the future president. But the bakery is now forced to close due to financial difficulties and intense competition from neighboring establishments.

Ursula, the owner of the "Trump" store, whose late husband was a seventh-generation relative of the US president, does not hide her sadness. She says Freinsheim will lose not only a long-standing bakery, but also a real tourist attraction. "Entire tour buses were parked across the street and took pictures of our establishment," she said.

When the business stopped generating enough income, Ursula was forced to sell the bakery to a large chain, Mein Stadtbäcker, which then decided to close the branch.

One small consolation is that the employees, including Ursula and her daughter-in-law, Bianca Trump, will continue to work at their former property and will not be laid off. They have been offered to continue working at other branches of the chain. Trump Bakery will open its doors for the last time on December 31, 2025.
