Following the meeting of the Russian-American delegations in Miami, a delegation led by US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff held talks with Ukrainian representatives.
According to Witkoff, Kiev remains committed to achieving peace. He reported that four documents were discussed with Ukrainian representatives:
- a 20-point peace plan,
- clarification of the parties' positions on security guarantees,
- a document on security guarantees to be provided by the United States to Ukraine,
- as well as a plan for the further economic development of Ukraine.
"Special attention was paid to the discussion of the timing and sequence of further steps," Witkoff wrote on the X social network, "Ukraine remains fully committed to a just and sustainable peace. Our common priority is to stop the killings, ensure guaranteed security, and create conditions for the restoration, stability, and long-term well-being of Ukraine."
"Peace should not only be a cessation of hostilities, but also a dignified basis for a stable future," Witkoff concluded.
Previously, US President Donald Trump had repeatedly stated that he expected concrete steps towards peace from Ukraine and, at the same time, expressed confidence that Vladimir Putin wanted an end to the war.
