British Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke by phone with US President Donald Trump on Monday, during which the two discussed steps to achieve a “just and sustainable” end to the war in Ukraine, according to Reuters.
Starmer’s office said the leaders began their conversation by discussing the situation in Ukraine and the role of the “Coalition of the Willing,” which has pledged to support Kyiv. Starmer briefed Trump on the coalition’s work to help a possible peace deal and ensure its implementation.
The call followed talks in Florida between US and Russian officials, as well as meetings between US negotiators and Ukrainian and European representatives. The contacts were part of discussions on an updated peace plan.
