French President Emmanuel Macron has said that resuming dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin could be helpful.
He said that Europeans and Ukrainians are interested in finding the correct format to engage in these discussions properly.
“I think it would be useful to talk to Vladimir Putin. Yes, I see that people are talking to him, so I think we, Europeans and Ukrainians, are interested in finding the right format to engage in these discussions. Otherwise, we are talking to each other, to negotiators who are acting alone. Talking to the Russians is not an ideal option,” Macron said.
He also noted that after lengthy negotiations, the leaders decided to provide Ukraine with a 90 billion-euro loan over the next two years, which, according to him, is an important step forward.
“This is an important step forward. The decision was made unanimously,” Emmanuel Macron said.
