Kazakhstan’s parliament has approved a law banning LGBT propaganda in the country, local media reported.
Deputy Justice Minister Botagoz Zakselekova said the ban does not violate international law because it permits restrictions on freedom of speech when there are legal grounds. She stressed that this applies exclusively to public propaganda.
Once the law comes into force, propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations on social networks and in the media will be banned in Kazakhstan.
