Kazinform reports that an agreement was signed yesterday to finance the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
The total cost of the project is estimated at $4.7 billion, of which $2.3 billion is being provided by China as a 35-year loan to a joint project company established by the three countries.
The remaining $2.3 billion will be invested in the authorized capital of the joint project company by the three countries: China (51%), Kyrgyzstan (24.5%), and Uzbekistan (24.5%).
The railway construction project includes 50 bridges and 29 tunnels totaling 120 kilometers.
