The Ukrainian defense forces have successfully counterattacked and surrounded the Russian military grouping in Kupyansk. The Charter Corps of the Land Guard reported this.
The Ukrainian side reports that 1,027 Russian servicemen have been killed in the operations carried out in recent days. The troops have reached the Oskol River, cutting off all land supply routes to the city from the north.
“More than 200 Russian servicemen in Kupyansk are now surrounded. Fighting continues in the city center, but soon Ukraine will completely liberate Kupyansk,” the commander of the Charter Corps emphasized.
The Ukrainian side considers this a strategic breakthrough toward Kharkiv, which could change the situation on this section of the front.
