Fico will not support Ukraine

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has said that he will not support the European Commission’s proposal to provide Kyiv with a compensation loan using frozen Russian assets if they are used for military purposes.

He posted a video of his speech in the country’s parliament on his “X” page, where he made the statement.

Fico noted that providing Kiev with “tens of billions” of euros leads to the continuation of the war.”

Moreover, the Slovak Prime Minister added that “the use of frozen Russian assets could directly jeopardize the peace efforts of the United States, which rely on these resources to restore Ukraine.”

“Slovakia will not become part of programs that only prolong suffering and murder. At the upcoming European Council meeting, I will not support any decision that would provide funding for Ukraine’s military spending,” he said.
