Trump is extremely disappointed

The White House said President Donald Trump will send a representative to Europe this weekend to negotiate over Ukraine if there is a real chance of a peace deal.

Trump's press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, said Trump was tired of the many meetings that had failed to reach an agreement to end the war in Ukraine.

"The president is extremely frustrated with both sides of the war and is tired of meetings just for the sake of meetings," she said.

Trump spoke by phone earlier in the day with the leaders of France, Germany, and Britain and said they had "a lively exchange of views," including on the prospects for talks in Europe this weekend.

"He wants this war to end. The administration has spent more than 30 hours, and that's just in the last few weeks, meeting with the Russians, the Ukrainians, and the Europeans. "Let's see how this weekend's matches go, and stay tuned for news," Leavitt said.
