Ukraine strikes the Lukoil oil field in the Caspian Sea

Bloomberg reports that Ukraine has attacked Lukoil’s Filanovsky oil field in the Caspian Sea. The source said Ukrainian long-range drones hit the platform at least four times, halting production at more than 20 wells.

The field’s design capacity is about 6 million tons of oil per year, or about 120,000 barrels per day. In 2023, Lukoil produced 76.5 million tons of crude oil and condensate in Russia, indicating that Filanovsky accounted for about 8% of Lukoil’s Russian production.
