Miami has held a historic election: On Tuesday, residents elected Eileen Higgins as mayor with 60% of the vote. She is the first female mayor in Miami history and the first Democratic leader in 28 years.
The former engineer defeated Republican Emilio Gonzalez, whom Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis endorsed.
