The Czech president has appointed billionaire Andrej Babiš, leader of the pro-Russian ANO party, as prime minister.
Babiš, 71, is the oldest head of government in the Czech Republic.
His appointment had previously raised concerns about a potential conflict of interest, as Babiš is a billionaire and the owner of the large holding company Agrofert, which receives EU subsidies.
Babiš, whose party won the election, had previously stated that Ukraine was not ready to join the European Union, stressing that “the war must end first.” He also promised to reduce aid to Kyiv.
