Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi.
Aliyev noted that ties between Azerbaijan and Iran have a centuries-old history, and that the peoples' long coexistence gives these relations special importance.
Expressing satisfaction with the recent intensification of relations, he emphasized that the visit of Iranian Masoud Pezeshkian to the country, as well as the mutual visits of other high-ranking officials, have contributed to further expansion of cooperation.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, Araghchi conveyed President Pezeshkian's greetings. He noted that Iran has great respect for President Aliyev and Azerbaijan.
Araghchi emphasized that Iranian-Azerbaijani relations have deep roots and underscored the importance of further deepening them.
