According to The Times, the United Kingdom is ready to transfer 9 billion euros of frozen Russian assets to Ukraine.
The publication writes that these funds are intended to become part of the compensation loan that the EU and its partners are establishing to support Ukraine.
London is currently working with Canada and the EU to agree on a transfer mechanism. In total, Britain has frozen 28.6 billion euros of Russian assets.
The country's government considers Russia "a threat to British citizens, security, and prosperity" and is calling on its partners to release another 130 billion dollars, overcoming a veto from Belgium, which is against such assistance due to financial and legal risks.
