German Chancellor Friedrich Merz spoke by telephone with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
The German Chancellor first congratulated Ilham Aliyev on the successes achieved in advancing the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He emphasized Germany’s support for regional stability.
Aliyev stressed that Azerbaijan will continue its efforts to ensure and strengthen stable peace in the region. During the telephone conversation, the parties exchanged views on the prospects for bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Germany.
Merz invited the Azerbaijani President to visit Germany. Aliyev accepted the invitation with satisfaction and asked the German Chancellor to reciprocate. Merz also accepted the invitation with satisfaction.
