French President Emmanuel Macron has proposed a moratorium on Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities during a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
"I hope that China will join our call and our efforts to achieve at least a ceasefire as soon as possible in the form of a moratorium on attacks on critical infrastructure. This is of key importance for the coming winter, because today Ukraine's civilian infrastructure, in particular energy, is still under Russian fire. We can work together to achieve a just and lasting peace that respects international law," Emmanuel Macron said during a visit to China.
China supports a peace agreement on Ukraine that is acceptable to all parties. The Chinese president also stated this.
"China supports all efforts to achieve peace and hopes that all parties will reach a just, lasting, and binding peace agreement that is acceptable to all parties through dialogue and negotiations," Xi Jinping said.
