US President Donald Trump said the future of the Ukraine peace talks is still unclear, despite “pretty good” discussions between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the US delegation.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said that Witkoff and Kushner had briefed him on the phone and conveyed that Putin’s impression was that he “wants to make a deal.”
“What happens after that meeting, I can’t say because both sides have to want it,” Trump said, adding: “We have something pretty well worked out with Ukraine.”
He also said that Witkoff and Kushner would meet with Ukrainian officials in Miami on Thursday.
