The ball is in Georgia's court. Russian Foreign Ministry

Russia sees no grounds for resuming political dialogue with Georgia, the Russian Foreign Ministry said. According to diplomats, Tbilisi still links the restoration of relations with Moscow to Moscow's refusal to recognize Abkhazia and South Ossetia, a demand the Foreign Ministry considers unrealistic.

The Ministry emphasized that the recognition of the independence of these regions is irreversible. Still, Moscow is open to further normalization of relations "at the level to which Georgia is ready for it."

"The ball is in Georgia's court, which, in our opinion, should be more interested in this than others," the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.
