China has commissioned the world's tallest dam-type pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant

In one of the most developed regions of China, Jiangsu Province, the world's tallest pumped-storage hydroelectric power station has been put into operation, Levon Azizyan, director of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center, wrote on his Facebook page.

The new station is located in Jiuzhong. The installed capacity is 1.35 million kilowatts, and at full capacity, the annual electricity production reaches 1.35 billion kilowatt-hours.

The upper reservoir dam, which can hold up to 17.07 million cubic meters of water, rises to 182.3 meters, which is equivalent to the height of a 60-story building. This makes it the world's tallest pumped-storage hydroelectric power station dam.
