Russian President Vladimir Putin's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, has announced that the upcoming meeting in Moscow between Vladimir Putin and the US President's special representative, Steve Witkoff, will be of paramount importance for the peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
"The understandings reached by Washington and Kiev will be discussed during the meeting," Peskov stressed.
The Kremlin official added that Russia is interested in a "long-term, for generations, solution to the Ukrainian conflict."
The meeting is scheduled for this afternoon.
