Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian received Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Sunday evening and stressed the need to strengthen bilateral relations and strengthen unity in the Islamic world.
He stated that he believes that the borders through which trade, scientific, and cultural flows pass will never be crossed by terrorism or weapons.
The president described relations between Tehran and Ankara as deeply rooted in common history and culture, noting the vast potential for expansion.
Pointing to Europe's experience, where historical rivalry has finally given way to integrated financial, political, and trade structures, Pezeshkian said that the Islamic world, with its more profound cultural and civilizational commonalities, can also strive for cooperation and collective development by unifying trade, knowledge, and cultural flows.
The Turkish Foreign Minister praised President Pezeshkian’s sincere and dedicated view of the Islamic world. He said the situation in the region requires joint, collective action.
He also touched on events in Iran, stating that Ankara recognizes that, since the Islamic Revolution, the country has developed at a rapid pace and with great dynamism.
