Pakistani bombing kills dozens in Afghanistan

Zabihullah Mujahid, the official spokesman for the Afghan Taliban, announced that Pakistani forces bombed a residential building in Khost province, killing at least 9 children (5 boys and 4 girls) and a woman.

According to Mujahid, at around 00:00 at night, Pakistan shelled the house of Vilayat Khan, a resident of Gerbzvo district, destroying it. He published photos of the victims on X.

The Pakistani military and the Foreign Ministry have not yet commented on the incident.

Mujahid also reported that Pakistan carried out attacks in Kunar and Paktika provinces, wounding 4 civilians.

The attacks came a day after two suicide bombings in Peshawar on Tuesday, which killed three Pakistani border guards.

Pakistan and Afghanistan clashed on the border in October, killing dozens of people, the deadliest fighting since the Taliban returned to power in 2021. The sides signed a peace agreement in Doha, but peace talks in Turkey have failed due to disagreements over groups hostile to Pakistan that operate from Afghan territory.
