Russian military launches missile attack on Kyiv, casualties reported

The Russian military launched a massive missile attack on Kyiv early in the morning. Residential buildings and energy facilities were hit, local authorities said.

An apartment building was damaged in the central Pechersk district.

A fire broke out in a nine-story apartment building in the eastern Dnipro district.

At least four people were injured, said Timur Tkachenko, the head of the Kiev city military administration.

Ukraine’s Energy Ministry confirmed that energy infrastructure had been hit, without elaborating on the extent of the damage.

The attack came after talks in Geneva on Sunday between U.S. and Ukrainian representatives on Trump’s Russia-Ukraine peace plan.

Oleksandr Bevs, a member of the Ukrainian delegation, told The Associated Press on Monday that the talks had been “very constructive” and that the parties had discussed almost all points.
