US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Tuesday that talks on a proposed plan to end the war in Ukraine and Russia have made “major progress.” The sides have developed an “updated peace framework.” Talks are set to continue this week.
Rubio left Geneva and returned to Washington. “There’s still some work to be done,” he said after meeting with Ukrainian and European negotiators.
The secretary of state said that discussions at the technical level would continue, and expressed optimism that “we will get there in a very short period of time.”
