The Israel Defense Forces have officially confirmed the killing of Hezbollah chief of staff Ali Tabtaba in Beirut.
"The IDF announces that today, November 23, 2025, an airstrike was carried out in the Beirut area, killing Hezbollah chief of staff and terrorist Haytham Ali Tabatabai," the IDF Spokesperson's Office reported.
Tabatabai was described as a key "agent and veteran" of Hezbollah. He joined the movement in the 1980s and has since held several leadership positions, including commander of the Radwan special forces unit and head of Hezbollah's operations in Syria.
