Dmitry Peskov said that Russia has not officially received any new American proposals on the Ukrainian settlement.
“There are certain considerations from the American side, but nothing substantial is being discussed at the moment. We are completely open and remain open to peace talks,” he said.
According to him, the practical work of the Russian armed forces should convince Zelensky and his regime that it is better to negotiate now.
“It is better to do it now than later. His decision-making space is narrowing, as he loses territory during the offensive operations of the Russian armed forces,” he added.
According to Peskov, the United States views Russian-American relations through the prism of the settlement of the situation in Ukraine.
“Moscow would prefer to consider the Ukrainian settlement and the elimination of bilateral wrinkles between Russia and the United States as two separate issues, but Washington has a different opinion,” he emphasized.
