Senior US military officials visited Kyiv

U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll and Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Randy George made a surprise visit to Kiev. This is the first time that top defense officials from the Trump administration have traveled to Ukraine.

The purpose of their visit is to accelerate the peace process and understand how the United States and Ukraine can better cooperate in the field of weapons and new technologies.

Ukraine has rapidly developed its own drone production in recent years, creating models that are used both on the front lines and deep inside Russia. The U.S. military is trying to learn from that experience. Driscoll and George have repeatedly noted that Ukraine’s ability to “think fast and build fast” should serve as an example for the American defense industry.

Driscoll and George will meet with the country’s leadership, including President Zelensky, in Kyiv to discuss the peace process and technological cooperation.
