Elon Musk attended the Trump-Mohammed bin Salman dinner at the White House

-Tesla CEO Elon Musk also attended a White House dinner with US President Donald Trump and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. It was their second public appearance together since a bitter public spat earlier this year.

According to Reuters, Musk's presence could signal a thaw in his strained relationship with Trump.

Musk had been a financial backer and campaigner for Trump last year, and earlier this year, he became a close adviser to the president, heading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and overseeing federal spending and job cuts.

But deep divisions soon emerged between the two. Musk has criticized Trump's sweeping tax and spending laws on social media, calling them fiscally irresponsible, and has announced plans to form a new political party. Trump has responded by threatening to cut billions of dollars in federal subsidies to Musk's companies.

Musk and Trump have rarely been seen together in public since then.

They were last seen shaking hands in September at a memorial service for conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
