Kirill Dmitriev, a special envoy to Russian President Vladimir Putin, told Axios that he discussed a possible prisoner exchange with American officials during a visit to the United States from October 24 to 26.
The Kremlin is once again trying to reach direct agreements with Washington.
Dmitriev met with US special representative Steve Witkoff and several other representatives of the Trump team.
He called the talks constructive, but no agreement was reached. At least eight US citizens currently remain in Russian prisons.
