The 23rd Autumn Plenary Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly opened in Istanbul.
In his opening remarks, Turkish National Assembly Speaker Numan Kurtulmus touched upon the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“The conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which has been a source of instability in the Caucasus for 30 years, has entered a new phase with the lifting of the occupation of Karabakh. Azerbaijan and Armenia have begun to resolve their issues through negotiations, just as envisaged by the OSCE’s core mission. I hope that if a lasting agreement is reached between the two countries, an atmosphere of peace will be restored in the Caucasus and our region,” he said.
