Zelenskyy stated that the situation in Pokrovsk is challenging

In an interview with Bloomberg, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky admitted for the first time to the possibility of withdrawing Ukrainian troops from the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk.

Zelensky admitted that the situation in Pokrovsk is “tough.” His words suggest that he is not opposed to the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops, but rather that local commanders make the decision.

“Nobody is forcing them to die for the ruins. I will support our soldiers, especially the commanders, so that they can effectively control the situation. The most important thing for us is our soldiers,” Zelensky said.

According to Zelensky, Russia is trying to capture Pokrovsk in an attempt to convince the US president that Ukraine must completely withdraw from Donbass to end the war.
