Business Insider reports that Ukraine is preparing to deploy an entirely new type of air defense, the Atreyd "drone wall." This is not a traditional system, but an aerial minefield of dozens of mini-drones powered by low-power batteries that can hunt down drones and guided bombs even without GPS.
The DWS-1 system, upon receiving a radar signal, launches hunting devices and creates a dense curtain in the air at an altitude of several thousand meters. The drones operate on the principle of "friend or foe," flying near the munitions and detonating them nearby, diverting them from their intended target. Those that fail to detonate return to the target. Artificial intelligence dynamically alters the wall's structure in real-time to counter a specific threat.
The tests have already been successful. Ukraine will now become the first country to use this technology in combat.
