A criminal case has also been initiated against Gakharia

The Georgian Prosecutor's Office has opened criminal cases against the former Prime Minister of Georgia.

According to Giorgi Gvarakidze, the head of the Prosecutor General's Office, two criminal cases have been opened against Giorgi Gakharia, the former Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

According to him, the investigation concerns the events of June 20-21, 2019, and the installation of a checkpoint in the village of Chorchana. Gakharia has been charged with a crime that carries a prison sentence of up to 13 years.

Gakharia has been in Germany for some time.
