Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has proposed lowering the military conscription age in Ukraine from 25 to 22 years old.
“We have huge problems with soldiers and human resources. Currently, conscription in Ukraine is carried out only at the age of 25. We can lower the age by one or two years, to 23 or 22,” the Kyiv mayor said in an interview with Politico.
According to Klitschko, the Ukrainian armed forces are currently facing a growing shortage of soldiers due to a record number of Ukrainians fleeing to Europe.
