Iran and Russia to create maritime transport consortium

Iran and Russia have agreed to create a joint maritime consortium and plan to work out the details, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali announced.

“Iran and Russia have agreed to create the first joint maritime shipping consortium,” he wrote on his X page.

According to him, this agreement is the result of negotiations between the parties held in Makhachkala on November 6-7, which were attended by representatives of major companies and the governments of both countries.

“During this meeting, an agreement was reached on the structure and scope of this consortium, and an agreement was also reached to prepare and present the details and the official text during the negotiations next month,” the diplomat added.

Jalali noted that the “strategic goal” of creating the consortium is to develop trade, transport, and transit.
